Scouting at Atascocita
BSA Troops 56 and 57 meet at Atascocita Methodist on Monday evenings from 7 – 8:30 p.m. Visit the monthly calendar to find the meeting locations.
The Atascocita Methodist Church chartered Cub Scout Pack 56 in 1986 and Boy Scout Troop 56 in 1988 to provide the Scouting program to young boys from the area. The Pack currently has over 50 registered youth and 17 BSA trained leaders. BSA also recognizes Cub Scout Pack 56 as a 2008 Quality Unit. In May of 2018, Pack 56 committed to include girls in our program. In December 2018, Atascocita Methodist officially formed a new charter to create Troop 57 for girls.
Scouting is a home and neighborhood centered program designed to support the values you teach at home. Scouts learn respect for God, country and other people, as well as other positive skills:
- Physical skills through sports, crafts and games
- Sportsmanship by “Doing Your Best”
- Getting along with others
- Personal achievement
- Academic skills
- Positive decision-making
- Independence
If you or your youth are interested in getting involved in Scouting, we have lots of opportunities to do so here at Atascocita Methodist . While both Cub Scouts and ScoutsBSA are always accepting new members, we also have openings for leaders.
To get involved, contact Steve Williams, our scouting liaison, or visit the Pack and Troop websites.
